Granville Harbour Wind Farm

Brand development and communications for a landmark Tasmanian renewables project

We collaborated with Banksia Communications to develop the brand identity and supporting communications for the Granville Harbour Wind Farm—a major renewable energy project located on Tasmania’s rugged North West coast. Our role included designing the project’s brand from the ground up and applying it across a range of community-facing materials and channels.

Challenge

Set in a remote and windswept region of Tasmania, the project required a visual identity that balanced technical credibility with approachability and local relevance. The communications materials needed to inform and engage local communities, stakeholders, and the broader public throughout the project’s development. All outputs had to reflect the renewable energy values and long-term vision behind the wind farm.

Result

We developed a custom brand identity for Granville Harbour Wind Farm, including logo design, colour palette, supporting typography, and a flexible visual language. This identity was rolled out across a range of applications, including newsletters, brochures, press advertising, and the project website. The brand was designed to reflect the scale and ambition of the project while remaining grounded in the natural environment of Tasmania’s West Coast.

Outcome

  • Symbolic and Dynamic Brand Identity
The logo design captures the movement and power of wind through a stylised whirlwind form, while also referencing the triangular shape of Tasmania—connecting the brand to both the renewable energy focus and its geographic location.
  • Consistent Cross-Channel Communications
The visual identity was applied across print, digital, and media assets, ensuring clear and cohesive communication with the public and stakeholders.
  • Strong Community Engagement Tools
Campaign materials and newsletters helped the project team inform and connect with local residents throughout the development process.
  • A Clean Energy Success Story
The wind farm is now home to 31 turbines generating 112 MW—enough to power 46,000 homes—contributing to Tasmania’s status as a 100% renewable energy state.
